During all my years of working with people, this is the time of year when people change the most. Have you ever noticed how people change this time of year? Many people become crazy, burdened and angry.
Think about Black Friday, how many people go absolutely crazy over a tv, or video game, or ipad. Really! They are just things, none of which can buy you happiness or love or good feelings. All those items are simply things you have to dust around and clean up on a regular basis.
Then there is small business Saturday, did you go shopping for you favorite sweater? Ugh, again just something you have to clean, although it does provide you with the fashionable statement you want to create.
And, then there is cyber Monday, where the deals are even better than Black Friday!
Sales! Sales! Sales!
This is the time of year that should bring peace, love and joy, after all that is what the Christmas carols on the radio are telling us to do! I remember when I was young, I really did not pay much attention to any of it, all I knew was there would be extra cleaning and cooking to be done and if it wasn’t done to a certain standard there would be the drudgery of doing it over and a few choice words I will not mention here. All the fuss and extra money that is spent……I’m becoming more exhausted just thinking about it.
In all seriousness I challenge you to spend a few extra minutes to write down what this time of year really means to you? What is the purpose? Do you celebrate according to your purpose of the time or do you get caught up in the hustle and bustle?
I LOVE this time of year especially, mainly because it is the one time of year that is celebrated with my very large family. It is the time when I get to see all the new additions and to remember all those who have transitioned to the ether world.
It is the time of year when I write the most and the time of year when I smile the most. I smile the most because of all the love and light I send to people. I think back to when I was working in the school system, people became so burdened that they forgot about the real meaning of their connection with spirit, which I always thought was so sad. So I smile and try to send an extra dose of love to those who pay more attention to what decoration they need to put up yet, or what gift they need to purchase. None of which really matters in the big scheme of things.
So this holiday season, sit down with your favorite cup of tea and reminisce or create a new purpose for this time of year and leave the decorations in the box. Enjoy!
